“Promise that we will always be friends?”
Whenever somebody tells me this before we start “dating” or when we just break things off, to be honest, I can’t. At least not until enough time has passed where my feelings fade, and past events don’t seem so awkward. It’s hard to be friends with somebody who has feelings for you because in their own way, they will always hope and wish for more than just a friendship, even if there is no hope.
It’s hard to promise to always be friends, even after everything. Never make a decision when you’re angry, and never make a promise when you’re happy.
